Dr Santiago’s topic for Monday will be Parkinson’s Disease: Care and Cure – Two Sides Of The Same Coin.
Darell Cain, who was scheduled to speak on caregiving, has graciously stepped aside to allow Neurologist and Movement Disorder Specialist Anthony Santiago, M.D. to be our guest speaker at TeleHealth Monday, June 14. This will likely be Dr Santiago’s final talk in the Spokane area before beginning his new position in Phoenix at the Mohammad Ali Parkinson’s Center.
TeleHealth: Monday June 14 at 2 PM St Luke’s Rehabilitation Institute 711 South Cowley Street, Spokane, WA 99202

The Parkinson’s Support Group is scheduled to meet this Wednesday (June 9th) from 1:30-3:00 at the PRC. This traditional group is open to everyone affected by PD: patients, family members, and caregivers. Share ideas, problems, and what works.
Snacks are provided by Woman’s Club of Spokane.
What happened to May — and April?
April was PD awareness month. We received official proclamations from both the mayor and the governor. We sold cookies on the 12th. We held the 3rd annual Carnival of Wellness on the 24th. We also added about 30 new people to our newsletter mailing list thanks to raised awareness.
May came and went too soon. One highlight was a presentation by the occupational therapy graduate students from Eastern Washington University covering their research into our Dance for Parkinson’s program. Hint: Dance for Parkinson’s helps on several levels!
And now it’s June. The WWPD group meets on Thursday, the PD group meets next Wednesday, TeleHealth is on the 14th, and Caregivers meet on the 23rd. Toss in meetings of the Tremble Clefs and the Dystonia Support Group, plus a Board of Directors meeting and we’ve got another full month ahead.
Who can even think about July yet?
