Caregiver support in Spokane

The May 25th meeting included a presentation by guest speaker Doctor of Pharmacy Erin Jennings who will be speaking on Dementia in Parkinson’s disease.

 

Dr. Jennings is a consultant pharmacist for Family Home Care & Hospice and a Clinical Instructor for WSU College of Pharmacy. Dr. Jennings received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the WSU College of Pharmacy in 2008, summa cum laude.  After graduation Dr. Jennings completed a one year residency in geriatrics through WSU and Providence Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) Home Health.  Upon completion of her residency she accepted her current position at Family Home Care.

The primary responsibilities of Dr. Jennings at Family Home Care & Hospice include performing medication reviews and education for patients, providing pharmacy related education to the staff at the Family Home Care, and precepting 4th year pharmacy students.  Her areas of interest include: continuity of care while transitioning from the hospital to home, pain management, diabetes, neurology, and the roles of consulting pharmacists in the community.
