Books, DVDs, and pamphlets are available in the PRC office. Come by to pick up information, call or email for materials to be mailed or emailed to you. Everything is free of charge.

The Resource, quarterly newsletter

The bimonthly newsletter of the PRC provides solid information in Cougar Rx Corner, a column written by fourth-year Washington State University Pharm.D. students, plus tips for thriving with PD, news, events, and breakthroughs. An online version is also available for download on the PRC website.

Parkinson’s Telehealth Educational Group

Meets the 2nd Monday of each month at St Luke’s Rehab, 711 S Cowley St.,  Spokane, WA

This is an educational meeting where patients meet and listen to professionals such as physicians, pharmacists, physical, occupational and speech therapists, psychotherapists, and others with knowledge about Parkinson’s disease. A question and answer session follows each meeting which reaches out to 22 other cities via satellite.

Watch “Parkinson’s Speech” on Community Minded Television Comcast channel 14 in Spokane Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 6PM. These presentations are recorded live then edited to 30 minute segments. Topics vary, but each episode offers solid, expert, information.

Powerful Tools for Caregivers

Although it is often rewarding, being a caregiver can also be physically, mentally and emotionally challenging. During this six-week course, Darell Cain (509) 466-1079) teaches self care in order to ease some of the stresses and strains of caregiving, ultimately leading to enhanced care for their person with Parkinson’s.
